Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 750 grams all-purpose flour
  • 500 ml. (2 cups) water
  • 15 grams (3 tsp.) instant dry yeast
  • 25 grams fine salt
  • 1 tbsp. honey or date-syrup
  • 1-2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 100 grams chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. In a bowl of an electric mixer with dough hook put flour, water, yeast, salt, honey and oil.
  2. Knead for about 12-15 minutes, until dough is smooth.
  3. Transfer the dough to a work surface and add chopped nuts. Continue to knead with your hands for about 2-3 minutes until smooth.
  4. Put the dough in a large bowl, cover and let rise in a warm place or until it doubles in volume.
  5. Divide the dough into two equal parts.
  6. Form each part of the dough in to a loaf and put on a baking tray lined with lightly floured baking paper.
  7. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 45-60 square or until almost doubled in volume.
  8. Preheat oven to 250c degrees. If you have a baking stone place it at the bottom.
  9. Sprinkle a little flour over each loaf and create incisions on top using a sharp knife.
  10. Bake for about 12-15 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 190c degrees and bake for another 20-25 minutes until golden brown and set.
  11. Remove the baked loafs carefully and tap at the bottom. If you hear a hollow sound - the bread is ready. If not, return for a few more minutes of baking.
  12. Cool the loves on a cooling rack completely at room temperature.
  13. Slice and serve.
