We booked flight tickets to Japan! In just a few months we are going to finally make a far-dream come true and travel to the most unique place on earth. I have a feeling that I will fall in love with Japan and have a hard time getting back from it. I’m kinda already deeply in love with this country, even before my feet set foot on its soil. Japan is exciting to me, I feel a great connection to Japanese culture, aesthetics, and of course Japanese food.

When I’m asked what my favorite food is, my immediate answer is Japanese food. Not just sushi, but more complex dishes; rich in special flavors that I are new to me, with aromas that take me to distant places that I will soon, finally, reach them in reality.

I admit that Matcha was not love at first sight for me, and even now it is still sometimes a bit complex in my taste. However, in the right doses it does wonders in desserts. I have been able to combine it into quite a few desserts I have prepared recently. Such as in these next cream puffs. These tiny puffs are filled with matcha pastry cream with a crunchy black sesame seeds crumble topping.

This is the kind of desserts that are not essentially Japanese, but their tastes are a kind of greeting from the land of the rising sun. The puffs are golden and stuffed with tons of cream and topped with a crackling black sesame crumble that adds crunch and flavor. If you like Japanese desserts; you really should try this one too.
