Ever since I first saw a Pinata cake is just knew I have to make my own version of it at home. It’s the perfect cake for kids’ birthdays, but I truly can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t like the fun part of cutting the cake. This is when all the hidden candy inside are revealed.

This Pinata cake is made of 4 layers of vanilla cake filled with whipped vanilla cream. Inside I hid chocolate candy, but you can definitely put these whatever candies you like. Even non-edible surprises for those of you who want to make a really special cake can fit right in.

Making a Pinata cake is not so difficult; I make one big vanilla cake, then cut it into 4 layer (you can also cut it into 3 layers, your choice). The assembly is a breeze, and the result is fun, colorful and playful. Kids LOVE this cake, and I bet you would too!
