A lovely aroma of a cake baking while in the oven, is undoubtedly one of the greatest pleasures in my eyes. And the fact that pound cakes take a few minutes of preparation this is just a nice bonus.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">I began to love poppy only in recent years. But since then I use poppy seeds quite a lot in my recipes, in every opportunity. This apple poppy seeds cake is amazing and so-so easy to make. It\u2019s soft, delicate, fragrant and just wonderful along-side a cup of coffee. (1\/2 cup) vegetable oil<\/li>\n<li>200 grams (1 cup) sugar<\/li>\n<li>200 ml. (1 cup) sour cream (see notes for dairy-free version)<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>Pinch of salt<\/li>\n<li>150 grams (1 \u00bd cups) freshly ground poppy seeds<\/li>\n<li>175 grams (1 \u00bc cups) all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>10 grams (2 tbsp.) baking powder<\/li>\n<li>3-4 Granny Smith apples<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>For serving:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>sugar powder<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat the oven to 175 Celsius degrees.<\/li>\n<li>In a large bowl, mix eggs, oil, sugar, sour cream, vanilla and salt into a uniform mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Add in the poppy seeds, flour and baking powder and mix until combined.<\/li>\n<li>Peel the apples and cut into small 2*2 cm cubes.<\/li>\n<li>Add the apple cubes to the mixture and mix gently until they are evenly dispersed in the batter.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the mixture into the pans and bake for about 35-40 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center of the cake comes out with moist crumbs.<\/li>\n<li>Cool completely, decorate with a little powdered sugar and serve.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-notes\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Keep the cake in a closed container in the fridge for up to 5 days.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">It is recommended to serve the cake warm or at room temperature, so it is at its best in terms of texture.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">It is important to use only fresh ground poppy seeds, which can be obtained at any spice store.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">If you wish, you can also add chopped nuts to the batter.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Dairy free version: instead of sour cream you can use coconut cream in the same amount.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-meta\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--End WPRM Recipe--><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_22498\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-22498\" class=\"wp-image-22498\" title=\"Apple Poppy Seeds Cake\" src=\"https:\/\/www.oogio.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2018\/10\/apple_poppy_seeds_cake3-s.jpg\" alt=\"Apple Poppy Seeds Cake\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-22498\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Natalie Levin<\/p><\/div>\n<\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>No matter how many fancy cakes or high-class desserts, pound cakes will forever be my favorite cakes in the world.
