(1 cup) lukewarm tea<\/li>\n<li>125 ml. (1\/2 cup) oil<\/li>\n<li>60 grams (1\/4 cup) raw tahini<\/li>\n<li>140 grams (1 cup) all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>140 grams (1 cup) whole wheat or whole spelt flour<\/li>\n<li>50 grams (1\/2 cup) sesame seeds<\/li>\n<li>10 grams (2 tsp.) baking powder<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp. baking soda<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>For the sesame streusel:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>70 grams (1\/3 cup) coconut oil<\/li>\n<li>100 grams (3\/4 cup) all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>70 grams (1\/3 cup) light brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>Pinch of salt<\/li>\n<li>50 grams (1\/2 cup) sesame seeds<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<h4>Tahini honey cake:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat the oven to 170c degrees and lightly grease the pans.<\/li>\n<li>In a large bowl, mix eggs, sugar, honey, salt and vanilla into a uniform mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Add tea, oil and tahini and whisk until combined.<\/li>\n<li>Add flour, whole wheat flour, sesame seeds, baking powder and baking soda and whisk until uniform mixture is obtained.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the batter into the cake pans.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Sesame streusel:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>In a medium bowl, put oil, flour, sugar, salt and sesame seeds and mix with a fork (or using your hands) to a crumbly mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle the crumbs over the top of the cakes.<\/li>\n<li>Bake the cakes for 35-45 minutes or until they turn golden, rise and set.<\/li>\n<li>Cool at room temperature and serve.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-notes\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">If desired, add some spices to the cake itself, such as cardamom, cinnamon, ginger or cloves according to your personal taste.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">The cakes are kept in a closed container in the refrigerator for up to a week.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">It is recommended to serve at room temperature.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Instead of sesame, you can use ground coconut in the same amount.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Instead of honey you can use Maple or date syrup (silan) to diversify flavors.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-meta\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--End WPRM Recipe--><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_22151\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-22151\" class=\"wp-image-22151\" title=\"Tahini Honey Cake with Sesame Streusel\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lilcookie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/sesame_and_tahini_honey_cake-s.jpg\" alt=\"Tahini Honey Cake with Sesame Streusel\" width=\"800\" height=\"1200\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-22151\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Natalie Levin<\/p><\/div>\n<\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This honey cake has the most unique flavors combination \u2013 tahini and sesame seeds.
