This is the perfect time of the year for baking all kinds of cookies, muffins and cakes that will fit right into the traditional Mishloach Manot. I make Mishloach Manot for my friends and family every year and try not to break this tradition even if I\u2019m busy.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">One of the things that are a MUST in Mishloach Manot are Hamantaschen. These traditional cookies are the most common in Purim, along with other cookies and sweets. These hamantaschen are a little more unique than the traditional hamantaschen, that are usually filled with poppy seeds or date spread. These hamantaschen are some what a homage to Reese\u2019s Cups \u2013 double chocolate Hamantaschen with peanut butter filling.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kids love them, and they have a unique look. If you like chocolate and peanut butter \u2013 these Hamantaschen will become your favorite this holiday!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_10384\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10384\" class=\"wp-image-10384\" title=\"Double Chocolate Hamantaschen with Peanut Butter Filling\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lilcookie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/peanut_butter_chocolate_hamantaschen-s.jpg\" alt=\"Double Chocolate Hamantaschen with Peanut Butter Filling\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-10384\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Natalie Levin<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-6091382327871787\" data-ad-slot=\"7832461759\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p><!--WPRM Recipe 19825--><\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe\">\n<h2 class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-name\">Double Chocolate Hamantaschen with Peanut Butter Filling<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-summary\">\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-equipment\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-ingredients\">\n<h4>For the chocolate dough:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>50 grams (1\/4 cup) dark chocolate chips<\/li>\n<li>150 grams (1 cup + 1 tbsp.) all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>100 grams (1 stick) cold butter<\/li>\n<li>30 grams (3 tbsp.) cocoa powder<\/li>\n<li>50 grams (5 tbsp.) sugar powder<\/li>\n<li>Pinch of salt<\/li>\n<li>1 egg<\/li>\n<li>1-2 tbsp. cold milk (if necessary)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>For the filling:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00bd jar smooth peanut butter<\/li>\n<li>50-60 grams (1\/4 cup) milk or dark chocolate chips<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li>Dough: in a food processor with a steel blade, grind chocolate and flour until a thin powder is obtained.<\/li>\n<li>Add cubes of butter, cocoa powder, powdered sugar and salt and blend until crumbly mixture is formed.<\/li>\n<li>Add egg and mix until large lumps of dough form. If the dough does not combine &#8211; add a tablespoon of cold milk and blend again.<\/li>\n<li>Transfer the dough to a work surface and form a disc shape. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 1 hour.<\/li>\n<li>On a floured work surface roll out the dough about 2-3 mm thick and cut out 7 cm circles with a cookie cutter.<\/li>\n<li>In the center of each circle of dough, place 1\/2 teaspoon of peanut butter and sprinkle with chocolate chips.<\/li>\n<li>Close the circles of dough to the shape of hamantaschen (triangular shape) and place on a baking pan lined with baking paper.<\/li>\n<li>Cool the cookies in the freezer for about 30 minutes before baking.<\/li>\n<li>Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 170c degrees.<\/li>\n<li>Bake the hamantaschen for about 12-15 minutes, until the dough sets at the edges but is still slightly soft in the center.<\/li>\n<li>Cool completely before serving.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-notes\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Since the dough is dotted with chocolate chips itself, it may break slightly during rolling, so it is important to process the flour and chocolate together to a very thin mixture. In any case, if the dough tears a little simply \u201cglue\u201d it together and continue as usual.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">It is important to cool the hamantaschen in the freezer before baking, so don\u2019t skip this step.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Keep the hamantaschen in a sealed box for 4-5 days.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-meta\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--End WPRM Recipe--><\/p>\n<\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Every year before Purim, I make a to-do list for cookies.
