Up until now I wasn&#8217;t sure what I thought about this fruit. Didn&#8217;t quite understand why people like it so much, and couldn\u2019t care for it as much.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Recently I tried some figs at a friend&#8217;s house, and I finally got it. It&#8217;s a great fruit! It&#8217;s so juicy, cold and delicious and simply a great summer fruit. This is why I decided I need to make a cake with it!<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">This no-bake pie is perfect for hosting in these hot days. It only takes a few minutes to prepare, and the result is simply gorgeous. Marzipan and biscuits crust filled with mascarpone cream, all topped with a lot of fresh figs. YUM!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_16638\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16638\" class=\"wp-image-16638\" title=\"No-bake Fig and Marzipan Pie\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lilcookie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/fig_and_marzipan_pie-s-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"No-bake Fig and Marzipan Pie\" width=\"800\" height=\"1200\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-16638\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Natalie Levin<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-6091382327871787\" data-ad-slot=\"7832461759\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><\/p>\n<p><script>\/\/ \n<br \/>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});<br \/>\n\/\/ <\/script><\/p>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>No-bake Fig and Marzipan Pie<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">24 cm round pie pan<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><u>For the crust:<br \/>\n<\/u>100 grams raw marzipan<br \/>\n100 grams graham crackers or plain biscuits<br \/>\n50 grams melted butter<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><u>For mascarpone cream:<br \/>\n<\/u>225 grams (1 pack) mascarpone cheese, at room temperature<br \/>\n125 ml. (1\/2 cup) cold whipping cream<br \/>\n50 grams (5 tbsp.) sugar powder<br \/>\n1 tsp. vanilla extract<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><u>For decoration:<br \/>\n<\/u>500-600 grams fresh figs, cut into squares<\/p>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Preparation<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ol dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Crust: in a food processor with a steel blade grind marzipan and biscuits until a thin powder is obtained.<\/li>\n<li>Add melted butter and blend until you get a crumbly mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Grease the mold slightly.<\/li>\n<li>Transfer the crumbs into the cake and press it to the sides and bottom of the pan to form a crust.<\/li>\n<li>Freeze the crust for about 30 minutes to set.<\/li>\n<li>Mascarpone cream: in a mixer bowl, whip mascarpone, whipping cream, sugar powder and vanilla until you get a very firm and stable cream.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the cream onto the crust and flatten the top using a palate knife.<\/li>\n<li>Arrange quartets of figs densely at the top of the pie in the shape of a fan.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Notes:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Keep the pie in the refrigerator for up to 4 days, but it is at its best a day or two after the preparation.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Instead of figs, you can use any other fruit you like.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is important to use mascarpone cheese at room temperature, but the whipping cream should be very cold in order for the mascarpone cream to set properly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"attachment_16637\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16637\" class=\"wp-image-16637\" title=\"No-bake Fig and Marzipan Pie\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lilcookie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/fig_and_marzipan_pie2-s-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"No-bake Fig and Marzipan Pie\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-16637\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Natalie Levin<\/p><\/div>\n<\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s only this year that I started to really like figs.
