This ricotta and white chocolate Danish braid is simply the best cake for the weekend!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_15896\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15896\" class=\"wp-image-15896\" title=\"Ricotta and White Chocolate Braid\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lilcookie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/cheese_white_chocolate_danish_cake2-s.jpg\" alt=\"Ricotta and White Chocolate Braid\" width=\"800\" height=\"1200\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-15896\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Natalie Levin<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-6091382327871787\" data-ad-slot=\"7832461759\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><\/p>\n<p><script>\/\/ \n<br \/>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});<br \/>\n\/\/ <\/script><\/p>\n<p><!--WPRM Recipe 20051--><\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe\">\n<h2 class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-name\">Ricotta and White Chocolate Braid<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-summary\">\n<p><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-equipment\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-ingredients\">\n<h4>For the dough:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>500 grams (3 1\/2 cups) all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>10 grams (1 tbsp.) instant dry yeast<\/li>\n<li>100 grams (1 stick) soft butter<\/li>\n<li>75 grams (1\/3 cup) sugar<\/li>\n<li>2 large eggs<\/li>\n<li>200 grams (1 pack) cream cheese<\/li>\n<li>Pinch of salt<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp. vanilla extract<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>For the cheese and white chocolate filling:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>500 grams ricotta cheese<\/li>\n<li>100 grams (1\/2 cup) sugar<\/li>\n<li>2 large eggs<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp. vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>Pinch of salt<\/li>\n<li>30 grams (3 tbsp.) all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>200 grams finely chopped white chocolate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>For brushing:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>1 beaten egg<\/li>\n<li>Large sugar crystals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Decoration:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Sugar powder<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li>Dough: in a mixer bowl with a kneading attachment, put flour, yeast, butter, sugar, eggs, cheese, vanilla and salt and knead for 10-12 minutes until you get a slightly sticky dough.<\/li>\n<li>Cover the dough with plastic wrap and allow rising in the refrigerator overnight.<\/li>\n<li>Ricotta and white chocolate filling: in a bowl, mix ricotta, sugar, eggs, vanilla, salt and flour to a smooth uniform mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Assemble the cakes: divide the dough into 2 parts.<\/li>\n<li>On a floured work surface, roll each part of the dough into a rectangle about 1\/2 cm thick.<\/li>\n<li>Spread half of the filling in the center third of the rectangle and sprinkle with 1\/2 of the chopped chocolate.<\/li>\n<li>Cut the 2-thirds on the sides into strips and braid in a cross-section.<\/li>\n<li>Place the cake on a baking pan lined with baking paper.<\/li>\n<li>Repeat the process with the second part of the dough and the remaining filling.<\/li>\n<li>Cover the cakes and allow rising in a warm place until they almost double their volume.<\/li>\n<li>Preheat the oven to 170c degrees.<\/li>\n<li>Gently brush the cakes with beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar.<\/li>\n<li>Bake the cakes for 30-35 minutes or until golden and set.<\/li>\n<li>Before serving, sprinkle with powdered sugar.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-notes\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">It is recommended to serve the cakes warm.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">The cakes are at their best on the day of baking.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Instead of white chocolate you can use dark or milk chocolate in the same amount.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Sugar crystals can be bought in stores that specialize in baking ingredients.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">The cakes can be prepared and frozen for up to a month.
