These gingerbread cookies are fragrant with orange zest, and spread the most beautiful smell all around the kitchen while baking.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">They are so easy to make, and these orange cookies are the perfect treat next to a cup of coffee or eggnog. These gingerbread orange cookies will be perfect for Christmas and are great to make with kids as well.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5796\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5796\" class=\"wp-image-5796\" title=\"Gingerbread Orange Cookies\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lilcookie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/spice_orange_cookies.jpg\" alt=\"Gingerbread Orange Cookies\" width=\"800\" height=\"1199\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-5796\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Natalie Levin<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-6091382327871787\" data-ad-slot=\"7832461759\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p><!--WPRM Recipe 21722--><\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe\">\n<h2 class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-name\">Gingerbread Orange Cookies<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-summary\">\n<p><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-equipment\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-ingredients\">\n<h4>Ingredients:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>200 grams (1 cup) sugar<\/li>\n<li>100 grams (1\/2 cup) vegetable oil<\/li>\n<li>1 large egg<\/li>\n<li>80 grams (1\/4 cup) honey<\/li>\n<li>Whole orange zest<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp. vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>Pinch of salt<\/li>\n<li>6 grams (1 1\/2 tsp.) ground ginger<\/li>\n<li>6 grams (1 1\/2 tsp.) cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>4 grams (3\/4 tsp.) ground cardamom <\/li>\n<li>280 grams (2 cups) all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>6 grams (1 1\/2 tsp.) baking powder<\/li>\n<li>Sugar for coating<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 170c degrees and line oven trays with baking paper.<\/li>\n<li>In a large bowl, whisk sugar, oil and egg until mixture is smooth.<\/li>\n<li>Add honey, orange zest, vanilla, salt, ginger, cinnamon and cardamom and beat into a smooth mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Sift in the flour and baking soda and fold with a spatula until the dough is uniform and slightly sticky.<\/li>\n<li>With slightly wet hands roll cookies and coat them in sugar.<\/li>\n<li>Arrange the cookies on the baking pan and bake for about 10 minutes until they flatten, crack slightly at the top and set on the edges, but still slightly soft in the center.<\/li>\n<li>Cool completely and store in a sealed jar.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-notes\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Keep the cookies in a sealed jar for up to a week.
