It&#8217;s one of my favorite cakes, so easy to make and I really don&#8217;t know anyone who would say NO to a slice of a soft, fresh banana cake.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">This banana cake combines not only bananas, but also hazelnuts that add crunch and date syrup for sweetness and delicious aroma. YUM! If you like banana cakes like I do, I&#8217;m sure this one will become one of your favorites &#8211; hands down.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lilcookie.com\/?s=banana\">For more banana recipes click here &gt;&gt;<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_10752\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10752\" class=\"wp-image-10752\" title=\"Banana Cake with Hazelnuts\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lilcookie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/banana_date-honey_and_hazelnut_cake-new-s.jpg\" alt=\"Banana Cake with Hazelnuts\" width=\"800\" height=\"531\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-10752\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Natalie Levin<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-6091382327871787\" data-ad-slot=\"7832461759\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p><!--WPRM Recipe 22327--><\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe\">\n<h2 class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-name\">Banana Cake with Hazelnuts<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-summary\">\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-equipment\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-ingredients\">\n<h4>For the cake:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>3 large eggs<\/li>\n<li>150 grams (3\/4 cup) sugar<\/li>\n<li>75 grams (1\/3 cup) light brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>3 tbsp. date syrup<\/li>\n<li>120 grams (1\/2 cup + 2 tbsp.) vegetable oil<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp. vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>Pinch of salt<\/li>\n<li>3 large ripe bananas (mashed)<\/li>\n<li>140 grams (1 cup) all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>140 grams (1 cup) spelt flour<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp. baking powder<\/li>\n<li>100 grams coarsely chopped hazelnuts<\/li>\n<li>2-3 tbsp. whole hazelnuts for decoration<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 170c degrees.<\/li>\n<li>In a large bowl, whisk sugar, brown sugar, date syrup, oil, eggs, vanilla, salt and mashed bananas until the mixture is smooth.<\/li>\n<li>Sift in flour, spelt flour and baking powder and fold using a spatula until almost incorporated.<\/li>\n<li>Add the chopped nuts and fold gently until dispersed evenly in the batter.<\/li>\n<li>Transfer the batter into the pan and sprinkle whole nuts over each cake.<\/li>\n<li>Bake for about 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out with moist crumbs.<\/li>\n<li>Cool completely and serve at room temperature.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-notes\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Keep the cake in a sealed container for up to 5-6 days in the refrigerator.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">You can freeze the cake (wrapped well) for up to 3-4 weeks.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">You can use any kind of nut you like instead hazelnuts.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Date syrup can be replaced with maple syrup or honey.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-meta\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--End WPRM Recipe--><\/p>\n<\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Whenever I have a few over-ripe bananas, I bake a delicious banana cake.
