I had it in a small bakery, and it was so good.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">When I got back home, I knew I had to make my own version, and after a few tests got to this recipe, with added Amarena cherries, that also make it prettier.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">It&#8217;s very easy to make and if you like key lime pie I&#8217;m sure you&#8217;re going to love it.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_15503\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15503\" class=\"wp-image-15503\" title=\"Key Lime Pie with Amrena Cherries\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lilcookie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/key-lime_pie_with_amarena_cherrites.jpg\" alt=\"Key Lime Pie with Amrena Cherries\" width=\"800\" height=\"1200\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-15503\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Natalie Levin<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-6091382327871787\" data-ad-slot=\"7832461759\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p><!--WPRM Recipe 21889--><\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe\">\n<h2 class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-name\">Key Lime Pie with Amrena Cherries<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-summary\">\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-equipment\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-ingredients\">\n<h4>For the crust:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>150 grams plain biscuits<\/li>\n<li>90 grams melted butter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>For the filling:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>3 large egg yolks<\/li>\n<li>Zest of 1 lemon<\/li>\n<li>400 grams sweetened condensed milk<\/li>\n<li>160 ml. lime or lemon juice<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp. key-lime extract<\/li>\n<li>Amarena cherries<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 170c degrees.<\/li>\n<li>In a food processor with a steel blade grind biscuits into very fine powder.<\/li>\n<li>Add melted butter and stir until blended.<\/li>\n<li>Tighten the crumb mixture onto the base and sides of the tart molds.<\/li>\n<li>Bake for about 5-7 minutes or until lightly brown.<\/li>\n<li>Filling: in a mixer bowl whip egg yolks and lemon zest at high speed for about 5-6 minutes, until the mixture is very airy and bright.<\/li>\n<li>Reduce the mixer speed and gradually add in condensed milk. Continue to blend at medium speed for another 3-4 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add in lime juice and extract in a thin stream. Mix just until blended.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the batter onto the half-baked crust filling up to 3\/4 of its height.<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle some cherries over each tart.<\/li>\n<li>Bake for about 8-10 minutes, or until the filling is set on the edges but still slightly soft in the center.<\/li>\n<li>Cool completely at room temperature and refrigerate to cool.<\/li>\n<li>Serve cold.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-notes\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">You can prepare the pie without cherries.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">You can prepare the recipes in 24 cm round pie pan instead of individual molds.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Keep the key lime pie in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-meta\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--End WPRM Recipe--><\/p>\n<\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The first time I tasted key lime pie was about 10 years ago, on a visit to the US.
