It&#8217;s a great cake for hosting a brunch and so easy to make.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_15397\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15397\" class=\"wp-image-15397\" title=\"Pecan Maple Cake\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lilcookie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/maple_pecan_cake2-s.jpg\" alt=\"Pecan Maple Cake\" width=\"800\" height=\"1200\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-15397\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Natalie Levin<span style=\"background-color: #ffffff; color: #222222; font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-6091382327871787\" data-ad-slot=\"7832461759\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p><!--WPRM Recipe 21012--><\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe\">\n<h2 class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-name\">Pecan Maple Cake<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-summary\">\n<p><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-equipment\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-ingredients\">\n<h4>For the cake:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>150 grams soft butter<\/li>\n<li>150 grams (3\/4 cup) sugar<\/li>\n<li>3 tbsp. maple syrup<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp. vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>Pinch of salt<\/li>\n<li>3 large eggs<\/li>\n<li>400 ml. 3% fat natural yogurt<\/li>\n<li>350 grams all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp. baking powder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>For maple and pecan mix:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>100 grams finely chopped pecans<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp. maple syrup<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp. ground cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>Icing sugar for decoration<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 170c degrees and grease the pan well.<\/li>\n<li>In a bowl of a mixer with a paddle-attachment put butter, sugar, maple, vanilla and salt and blend at high speed until the mixture is creamy.<\/li>\n<li>Add the eggs one at a time, while mixing between additions.<\/li>\n<li>Add the yogurt and mix on slow speed until blended.<\/li>\n<li>Sift in flour and baking powder and mix just until you get a smooth batter.<\/li>\n<li>In a small separate bowl mix chopped pecans, maple and cinnamon.<\/li>\n<li>Assemble the cake: pour about 1\/2 amount of batter into the pan, and smooth the top.<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle evenly the maple and pecan mixture with a spoon in a thin layer.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the remaining batter and flatten the top.<\/li>\n<li>Stir with a long knife inserted into the batter in order to get marble form after baking.<\/li>\n<li>Bake for about 35-45 minutes or until the cake is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.<\/li>\n<li>Cool for 15 minutes at room temperature and turn on a serving plate.<\/li>\n<li>Cool completely, sprinkle with icing sugar and serve.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-notes\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">You can omit the cinnamon if you prefer.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Instead of one round pan you can bake the cake in two 30 cm loaf pans. Baking time will be shorter.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Keep the maple cake in a closed container in the refrigerator for up to a week, but you should serve it at room temperature or even slightly warm.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Instead of pecans you can use any other kind of nut you like.
