It was so rich, golden and crispy; I knew I had to try making my version at home.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">After a few tests I got to this recipe, which combines chestnuts and hazelnuts. The chestnut and hazelnut bread turned out so delicious and the fragrant all over the house while baking was absolutely incredible.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_15294\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15294\" class=\"wp-image-15294\" title=\"Chestnut and Hazelnut Bread\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lilcookie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/chestnuts_hazelnuts_and_spelt_flour_bread-s.jpg\" alt=\"Chestnut and Hazelnut Bread\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-15294\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Natalie Levin<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-6091382327871787\" data-ad-slot=\"7832461759\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p><!--WPRM Recipe 20971--><\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe\">\n<h2 class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-name\">Chestnut and Hazelnut Bread<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-summary\">\n<p><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-equipment\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-ingredients\">\n<h4>For the chestnut and hazelnut bread:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>750 grams spelt flour<\/li>\n<li>150 grams ground oatmeal<\/li>\n<li>15 grams active dry yeast<\/li>\n<li>50 grams dark brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>80 ml. vegetable oil<\/li>\n<li>18 grams fine salt<\/li>\n<li>500-600 ml. water<\/li>\n<li>150 grams chopped chestnuts<\/li>\n<li>150 grams chopped hazelnuts<\/li>\n<li>All-purpose flour for dusting<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li>In a bowl of a mixer with a dough-attachment put flour, oats, yeast, sugar, oil, salt and 500 ml. of water and knead on low speed for 4-5 minutes or until the dough begins to form. If the dough seems too dry &#8211; add a little more water gradually while kneading. Texture of the dough should be soft, flexible and not too sticky.<\/li>\n<li>Knead another 5-6 minutes at medium-low and towards the end of kneading add chestnuts and hazelnuts and knead until the evenly dispersed in the dough.<\/li>\n<li>Transfer the dough on a floured work surface and form a round shape. Put in a lightly floured bowl, cover and let rise for about an 1-2 hours or until the dough doubles in volume.<\/li>\n<li>Transfer the dough on a lightly floured work surface and divide into 2 parts.<\/li>\n<li>Form each part of the dough into a loaf and put on a baking tray lined with lightly floured baking paper.<\/li>\n<li>Cover and let rise for about an hour or until almost doubled the volume.<\/li>\n<li>Preheat oven to 250c degrees. If you have a baking stone place it at the bottom of the oven.<\/li>\n<li>Create large incisions on top of the loaves with a sharp knife and sprinkle a little flour.<\/li>\n<li>Bake the bread on the stone or the bottom of the oven for 10-12 minutes at high heat.
