You only need a few minutes, a bowl and a whisk, and in less than an hour you can have a great chocolate dessert everyone loves.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">These whole wheat brownies have sea salt in the batter and lots of pecan on top. It&#8217;s quick, easy to make and absolutely delicious!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_15286\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15286\" class=\"wp-image-15286\" title=\"Pecan and Sea Salt Whole Wheat Brownies\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lilcookie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/pecan_and_sea_salt_brownies-s.jpg\" alt=\"Pecan and Sea Salt Whole Wheat Brownies\" width=\"800\" height=\"1200\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-15286\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Natalie Levin<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-6091382327871787\" data-ad-slot=\"7832461759\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p><!--WPRM Recipe 21509--><\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe\">\n<h2 class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-name\">Pecan and Sea Salt Whole Wheat Brownies<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-summary\">\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-equipment\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-ingredients\">\n<h4>For the brownie:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>200 grams dark chocolate 60%<\/li>\n<li>150 grams (3\/4 cup) butter<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp. ground sea salt<\/li>\n<li>170 grams (3\/4 cup) dark brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>3 large eggs (at room temperature)<\/li>\n<li>70 grams (1\/2 cup) whole wheat flour<\/li>\n<li>25 grams (1\/4 cup) finely chopped pecans<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp. baking powder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>For topping:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>80-100 grams coarsely chopped pecans<\/li>\n<li>Some sea salt<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 170c degrees and grease the pan.<\/li>\n<li>Chop the chocolate and place in a bowl. Add butter and melt together in the microwave or over double boiler until melted and mixture is smooth.<\/li>\n<li>Add salt and sugar and beat well until blended.<\/li>\n<li>Add the eggs one at a time, stirring between additions.<\/li>\n<li>Add flour, ground pecans and baking powder and mix just until incorporated. It is important to avoid over-processing that could harm the fudgy texture of the brownies after baking.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the mixture into the pan, and smooth the top.<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle pecans evenly and a little sea salt.<\/li>\n<li>Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until set in the edges but slightly soft in the center.<\/li>\n<li>Cool completely at room temperature and cut to squares.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-notes\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Keep the brownies in a sealed box at room temperature up to 5-6 days.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">You can freeze the brownies in an airtight container up to one month.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Instead of pecans you can use any other type of nut you like.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Instead of whole wheat flour you can use all-purpose flour the same amount.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Brownies are at their best at room temperature or slightly warm.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-meta\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--End WPRM Recipe--><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_15285\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15285\" class=\"wp-image-15285\" title=\"Pecan and Sea Salt Whole Wheat Brownies\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lilcookie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/pecan_and_sea_salt_brownies2-s.jpg\" alt=\"Pecan and Sea Salt Whole Wheat Brownies\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-15285\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Natalie Levin<\/p><\/div>\n<\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brownies is the one dessert I make when I don&#8217;t have much time.
