(1\/2 cup) milk<\/li>\n<li>50 grams (1\/4 cup) sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 large egg<\/li>\n<li>1 large egg yolk<\/li>\n<li>75 grams (1\/3 cup) melted butter<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp. fine salt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>For the filling:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>25 grams (2 tbsp.) soft butter<\/li>\n<li>Freshly ground sea salt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>For brushing and topping:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>1 egg white<\/li>\n<li>Some sesame seeds<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li>In a bowl of an electric mixer with a dough hook put flour, yeast, milk, sugar, egg yolks, melted butter and salt and knead at low-medium speed for 10-12 minutes until the dough is uniform and slightly sticky.<\/li>\n<li>Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and form a ball shape.<\/li>\n<li>Place the dough in a slightly greased bowl, cover and let rise for about an hour or until the dough doubles in volume.<\/li>\n<li>Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a circle about 1-2 cm thick.<\/li>\n<li>Brush the dough circle with a thin layer of soft butter and sprinkle some sea salt.<\/li>\n<li>Cut into 12 triangles (like pizza), and roll each triangular shape to croissant.<\/li>\n<li>Place the rolls on a baking pan lined with baking paper, cover and let rise for about an hour or until the rolls have almost doubled their volume.<\/li>\n<li>Preheat oven to 170c degrees.<\/li>\n<li>Gently brush the rolls with some egg white and sprinkle sesame seeds.<\/li>\n<li>Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until the rolls are golden and set.<\/li>\n<li>Cool at room temperature and serve.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-notes\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Keep the rolls in a sealed bag in the freezer for 2-3 weeks.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Instead of milk you can use water.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">The rolls at their best when they are fresh, but also keep well frozen.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-meta\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--End WPRM Recipe--><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_15189\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15189\" class=\"wp-image-15189\" title=\"Soft Crescent Butter Rolls\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lilcookie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Crescent_butter_rolls-s.jpg\" alt=\"Soft Crescent Butter Rolls\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-15189\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Natalie Levin<\/p><\/div>\n<\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I always have homemade butter rolls in my freezer.
