(3 tbsp.) maple syrup<\/li>\n<li>Pinch of salt<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp. vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>3 large eggs<\/li>\n<li>200 ml. (1 cup) sour cream<\/li>\n<li>60 ml. (1\/4 cup) milk<\/li>\n<li>30 grams (3 tbsp.) whole oats<\/li>\n<li>210 (1 1\/2 cups) grams all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>10 grams (2 tsp.) baking powder<\/li>\n<li>5-6 granny smith apples (peeled and diced)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>For the crumble:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>100 grams (3\/4 cup) all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>100 grams (1\/2 cup) cold butter (cut into cubes)<\/li>\n<li>70 grams (1\/3 cup) light brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>25 grams (1\/4 cup) whole oats<\/li>\n<li>Icing sugar for decoration<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 170c degrees and grease the pan.<\/li>\n<li>In a bowl of an electric mixer with a paddle attachment, put butter, sugar, maple, salt and vanilla and blend at high speed until the mixture is creamy.<\/li>\n<li>Add eggs one at a time, while mixing between additions until blended.<\/li>\n<li>Add sour cream, milk and oatmeal and mix until incorporated.<\/li>\n<li>Add flour and baking powder and mix just until the mixture smooth and thick.<\/li>\n<li>Add diced apples and stir until evenly dispersed in the batter.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the mixture in the pan and level the top.<\/li>\n<li>Crumble: in a medium a bowl put flour, butter, sugar and oatmeal and mix with your hands until the mixture is crumbly.<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle the crumbs evenly over the cake.<\/li>\n<li>Bake for about 45-60 minutes or until the cake is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.<\/li>\n<li>Cool completely at room temperature.<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-notes\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Serve the cake at room temperature.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Keep the cake in a closed container in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">You can use pears instead of apples.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">You can use shredded coconut or chopped nuts instead of whole oats.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-meta\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--End WPRM Recipe--><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_12634\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12634\" class=\"wp-image-12634\" title=\"Apple Crumble Cake\" src=\"https:\/\/www.oogio.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/apple_crumble_cake-s.jpg\" alt=\"Apple Crumble Cake\" width=\"800\" height=\"795\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-12634\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Natalie Levin<\/p><\/div>\n<\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you have a few apples lying around the kitchen, which nobody really wants to eat them as they are &#8211; you simple have to try this apple crumble cake.
