(1\/2 cup) milk<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp. vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>Pinch of salt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>For almond and chocolate chip filling:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>200 grams dark chocolate<\/li>\n<li>100 grams (1\/2 cup) butter<\/li>\n<li>50 grams (2 1\/2 tbsp.) praline paste<\/li>\n<li>100 grams (1 cup) chopped almonds<\/li>\n<li>50-100 grams dark or white chocolate chips<\/li>\n<li>Beaten egg for brushing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>For the syrup:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>100 grams (1\/2 cup) sugar<\/li>\n<li>120 ml. (1\/2 cup) water<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li>Dough: in a bowl of an electric mixer with a dough hook put flour, yeast, sugar, butter, eggs, milk, vanilla and salt and knead for 10-12 minutes until the dough is smooth.<\/li>\n<li>Form a round shape of the dough, put in a bowl, cover and let rise until the dough doubles in volume.<\/li>\n<li>Chocolate, almond and praline filling: chop the chocolate and place in a bowl.<\/li>\n<li>Add butter and praline paste and solvents together in the microwave until everything is melted and mixture is smooth.<\/li>\n<li>Cool the mixture in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes, stirring occasionally, until you get a spreadable texture.<\/li>\n<li>On a floured surface, roll the dough into a rectangle about 1-2 cm thick.<\/li>\n<li>Spread the filling evenly and sprinkle some chopped almonds and chocolate chips. Roll the dough tightly.<\/li>\n<li>Use a sharp knife and cut the roll into 5-6 cm wide roses. Place in a lightly greased pan.<\/li>\n<li>Cover the pan with a damp towel and let rise in a warm place for about an hour or until it nearly doubles in volume.<\/li>\n<li>Preheat oven to 170c degrees.<\/li>\n<li>Gently brush the cake with some beaten egg.<\/li>\n<li>Bake for about 30-40 minutes or until the cake is golden and set.<\/li>\n<li>Syrup: in a small pot put water and sugar and heat to a boil.<\/li>\n<li>Cook for 2-3 minutes after boiling and remove from heat.<\/li>\n<li>Brush the cake generously with warm syrup.<\/li>\n<li>Cool slightly and serve.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-notes\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">You can use any type of nuts instead of almonds.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">It is important not to give up the syrup because it makes the cake moist and keeps it soft.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">The rolls are at their best when freshly baked, but you can wrap and freeze it for up to 2 weeks.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Defrost and warm a little before serving.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">If you don&#8217;t have praline paste you can use Nutella spread.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-meta\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--End WPRM Recipe--><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_12639\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12639\" class=\"wp-image-12639\" title=\"Almond Chocolate Chip Rolls\" src=\"https:\/\/www.oogio.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/chocolate_praline_and_almond_yeast_cake2-s.jpg\" alt=\"Almond Chocolate Chip Rolls\" width=\"800\" height=\"354\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-12639\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Natalie Levin<\/p><\/div>\n<\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There&#8217;s nothing like the smell of fresh pastry baking in the oven when it&#8217;s cold outside.
