It&#8217;s a layer cake filled with sour cream, cream cheese and honey cream and even though it looks difficult to make, it&#8217;s actually quite simple.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_12904\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12904\" class=\"wp-image-12904\" title=\"Medovik Cake\" src=\"https:\/\/www.oogio.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/medovik-new2-s.jpg\" alt=\"Medovik Cake\" width=\"800\" height=\"783\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-12904\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Natalie Levin<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-6091382327871787\" data-ad-slot=\"7832461759\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p><!--WPRM Recipe 21272--><\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe\">\n<h2 class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-name\">Medovik Cake<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-summary\">\n\t\tRecipe is loosely based on <a href=\"https:\/\/azcookbook.com\/2010\/02\/19\/honey-cake-medovik\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this recipe<\/a> with my changes and adjustments.\t<\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-equipment\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-ingredients\">\n<h4>For the cake layers:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>3 large eggs<\/li>\n<li>150 grams (3\/4 cup) sugar<\/li>\n<li>50 grams (3 tbsp.) dark brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>100 grams (1\/2 cup) melted butter<\/li>\n<li>50 grams (3 tbsp.) honey<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp. baking soda<\/li>\n<li>420 grams (3 cups) all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>For the filling:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>800 ml. (4 cups) full-fat sour cream<\/li>\n<li>450 grams (2 packs) cream cheese (at room temperature)<\/li>\n<li>250 grams sugar powder<\/li>\n<li>50 grams (3 tbsp.) honey<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp. vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>Sugar powder for serving<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li>Dough: in a pot heat some water to a boil.<\/li>\n<li>In a fireproof bowl whisk eggs, sugar, brown sugar, melted butter and honey until blended.<\/li>\n<li>Place the bowl over the pot with boiling water and whisk constantly, while cooking, for about 5 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.<\/li>\n<li>Add in baking soda and flour and stir with a wooden spoon until a sticky dough forms.<\/li>\n<li>Wrap the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1-2 hours, until cold and set.<\/li>\n<li>Divide the dough into 5 equal parts. To be precise &#8211; each part should weigh about 170 grams.<\/li>\n<li>Preheat oven 165c degrees.<\/li>\n<li>Roll out each part of the dough to about 3 mm thick and place on an oven pan lined with baking paper.<\/li>\n<li>Bake each layer for about 4-5 minutes or until it is golden and set. Cool completely.<\/li>\n<li>Cut the cake layers into 22 cm circles. Set aside the leftovers for decoration.<\/li>\n<li>Filling: in a large bowl whisk sour cream, cream cheese, powdered sugar, honey and vanilla until mixture is smooth.<\/li>\n<li>Assemble the cake: place a layer of cake on a serving plate and pour about 1\/5 amount of filling. Flatten the cream with a spatula and place the second layer of cake on top.
