If you like alfajores &#8211; you will love them!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_8447\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8447\" class=\"wp-image-8447\" title=\"Alfajores Hamentaschen\" src=\"http:\/\/oogio.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/haman_alfjores-1000.jpg\" alt=\"Alfajores Hamentaschen\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-8447\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Natalie Levin<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-6091382327871787\" data-ad-slot=\"7832461759\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p><!--WPRM Recipe 19930--><\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe\">\n<h2 class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-name\">Alfajores Hamentaschen<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-summary\">\n<p><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-equipment\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-ingredients\">\n<h4>For the dough:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>100 grams (1 stick) cold butter (cut into cubes)<\/li>\n<li>100 grams (3\/4 cup) all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>125 grams (1 cup) cornstarch<\/li>\n<li>5 grams baking powder<\/li>\n<li>60 grams (1\/2 cup) sugar powder<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp. vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>Pinch of salt<\/li>\n<li>2 large egg yolks<\/li>\n<li>1-2 tbsp. cold milk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>For filling and decoration:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/2 can Dulce de Leche (preferably one that is made in Argentina)<\/li>\n<li>3-4 tbsp. shredded coconut<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Decoration:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Sugar powder<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li>Cookies: In a food processor with a steel blade, put butter, flour, cornstarch, baking powder and sugar powder, vanilla and salt and blend to fine crumbs.<\/li>\n<li>Add egg yolks and milk and blend just until a smooth dough forms.<\/li>\n<li>Flatten the dough into a disc shape, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for an hour.<\/li>\n<li>Preheat oven to 160c degrees.<\/li>\n<li>On a floured work surface roll out the dough 3mm thick.<\/li>\n<li>Cut out medium circles with a cookie cutter about 5-6cm in diameter.<\/li>\n<li>Put about 1\/2 tsp. of Dulce de leche in the center of each cookie, sprinkle some coconut and form a hamantaschen shape.<\/li>\n<li>Place the cookies at intervals on an oven pan lined with baking paper.<\/li>\n<li>Cool in the freezer for about 15 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Preheat the oven to 160c degrees.<\/li>\n<li>Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.<\/li>\n<li>Cool completely and serve with powdered sugar.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-notes\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Keep the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature up to 5 days.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">On hot and humid days it is recommended to keep in the refrigerator.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Hamantaschen can be frozen for up to a month stored in a sealed box.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">You can fill the hamantaschen cookies with any other filling of your choice.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-meta\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--End WPRM Recipe--><\/p>\n<\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A great treat for Purim &#8211; Alfajores Hamantaschen!
