Set aside until preparing the cakes.<\/li>\n<li>On a floured work surface, roll out the dough to a rectangle about 1-2 cm thick.<\/li>\n<li>Spread the cheese filling evenly in a thin layer and sprinkle over the cranberries.<\/li>\n<li>Roll tightly and cut into 12 equal pieces.<\/li>\n<li>Grease a muffin pan and place the pastries inside it.<\/li>\n<li>Cover and let rise until almost doubled in volume.<\/li>\n<li>Preheat oven to 170c degrees.<\/li>\n<li>Gently brush the cakes with beaten egg and bake for about 15-22 minutes or until golden.<\/li>\n<li>Lemon syrup: in a small pot heat water, sugar and lemon zest to a boil over high heat.<\/li>\n<li>Reduce the heat slightly and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the sugar has completely dissolved.<\/li>\n<li>Brush the cakes with syrup and serve.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-notes\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Instead of cranberries you can use raisins or dried raspberries.<br \/>Serve warm or at room temperature.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Keep the cakes in a sealed box in the freezer for up to one month.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-meta\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--End WPRM Recipe--><\/p>\n<\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>These lemon and cranberry rolls with cream cheese are such a great addition to any brunch party.
