I love how the acidity of the cheese combines just great with the sweetness of the chocolate, and together it creates a whole new flavor.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">This chocolate chip cream cheese babka cake is perfect for weekend brunch or as a sweet and delicious breakfast. It&#8217;s quite easy to make, and the filling is satisfying and yummy. If you want to make a unique babka &#8211; this one is for you!<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Serving it with chocolate sauce makes this cream cheese babka absolutely indulging and super decadent, and this is why I love it so much.<\/p>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lilcookie.com\/category\/cakes-en\/babka-cakes\/\">Click here for more babka cakes recipe &gt;&gt;<\/a><\/h4>\n<div id=\"attachment_8972\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8972\" class=\"wp-image-8972\" title=\"Cream Cheese and Chocolate Danish Cake\" src=\"http:\/\/oogio.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/chocolate_cheese_yeast_cake-final-s.jpg\" alt=\"Cream Cheese and Chocolate Danish Cake\" width=\"800\" height=\"531\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-8972\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Natalie Levin<\/p><\/div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-6091382327871787\" data-ad-slot=\"7832461759\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p><!--WPRM Recipe 24421--><\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe\">\n<h2 class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-name\">Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Babka<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-summary\">\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-equipment\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-ingredients\">\n<h4>For the dough:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>500 grams flour<\/li>\n<li>25 grams fresh yeast (or 8 grams instant dry yeast)<\/li>\n<li>125 grams soft butter<\/li>\n<li>100 grams sugar<\/li>\n<li>2 large eggs<\/li>\n<li>Pinch of salt<\/li>\n<li>200 ml. 3% fat natural yogurt<\/li>\n<li>45 ml. milk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>For cheese and chocolate filling:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>50 grams ricotta cheese<\/li>\n<li>100 grams sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp. vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>1 large egg<\/li>\n<li>2 large egg yolks<\/li>\n<li>30 grams cornstarch<\/li>\n<li>100 grams dark chocolate chips<\/li>\n<li>Beaten egg for brushing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>For chocolate sauce (for serving, optional):<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>50 grams dark chocolate<\/li>\n<li>60 ml. heavy cream<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li>Dough: in a bowl of a mixer with a dough hook put flour, yeast, butter, sugar, eggs, salt, vanilla, yogurt and milk and knead on low speed for 10-12 minutes, until the dough is uniform, soft and slightly sticky.<\/li>\n<li>Cover the bowl and let rise for about an hour or until it doubles in volume.<\/li>\n<li>Cheese and chocolate filling: in medium bowl mix ricotta, sugar and vanilla until blended.<\/li>\n<li>Add egg, egg yolks and cornstarch and continue mixing only until absorbed in the mixture. Refrigerate until assembly of the cakes.<\/li>\n<li>Assemble the cakes: divide the dough into 2 equal pieces and grease the pans.<\/li>\n<li>On a floured surface, roll each part into a rectangle about 1-2 cm thick.<\/li>\n<li>Spread half of the cheese filling in a thin layer. Sprinkle with half the amount of chocolate chips.<\/li>\n<li>Roll tightly into a roulade. Cut into 1-2 cm rolls and place in the pan.<\/li>\n<li>Repeat with the second part of the dough and the remaining filling.<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"direction: ltr\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;font-weight: inherit\">Cover the cakes and let rise for about 30-40 minutes, or until almost double the volume.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"direction: ltr\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;font-weight: inherit\">Preheat oven to 170c degrees.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"direction: ltr\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;font-weight: inherit\">Gently brush the cakes with some beaten egg.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"direction: ltr\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;font-weight: inherit\">Bake for about 35-45 minutes or until the cake golden and set.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"direction: ltr\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;font-weight: inherit\">Cool for about 1\/2 hour at room temperature before serving.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"direction: ltr\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;font-weight: inherit\">Chocolate sauce: chop the chocolate and put in a small bowl.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"direction: ltr\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;font-weight: inherit\">Add in cream and melt together in the microwave or over double-boiler, until the mixture is smooth and completely melted.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"direction: ltr\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;font-weight: inherit\">Serve the cake with chocolate sauce on top.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-notes\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">You can freeze the cake for up to 2 weeks.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Add the chocolate sauce just before serving.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Instead of dark chocolate you can use milk or white chocolate.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">The babka is at its best when fresh from the oven, so it&#8217;s recommended to serve warm.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-meta\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--End WPRM Recipe--><\/p>\n<\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chocolate and cream cheese is definitely one of my favorite flavors combinations in desserts.
