(3 tbsp.) vegetable oil<\/li>\n<li>1 egg yolk<\/li>\n<li>40 grams (3 tbsp.) maple syrup<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp. vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 tsp. ground ginger<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 tsp. ground cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp. ground cardamom<\/li>\n<li>Pinch of salt<\/li>\n<li>140 grams (1 cup) all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp. baking soda<\/li>\n<li>Sugar for coating<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 170c degrees and line baking trays with baking paper.<\/li>\n<li>In a large bowl, whisk sugar, oil and egg yolk until the mixture is smooth.<\/li>\n<li>Add maple, vanilla, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom and salt and beat into a smooth mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Sift in flour and baking soda and fold with a spatula until slightly sticky dough is formed.<\/li>\n<li>Using damp hands, roll cookies, dip in sugar and arrange on the tray.<\/li>\n<li>Bake for about 10 minutes until the cookies flatten, crack slightly, set at the edges and golden brown.<\/li>\n<li>Cool completely at room temperature and store in a sealed jar.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-notes\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Keep the cookies in a sealed jar for up to 10 days at room temperature.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">You can add or omit the spices according to your personal taste.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">You can use honey instead of maple syrup.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-meta\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--End WPRM Recipe--><\/p>\n<\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I love maple, and use it quite a lot in baking.
