(1\/2 cup) milk<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp. cocoa powder<\/li>\n<li>150 grams (3\/4 cup) soft butter<\/li>\n<li>200 grams (1 cup) sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp. vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>Pinch of salt<\/li>\n<li>3 large eggs<\/li>\n<li>300 ml. (1 1\/2 cups) sour cream<\/li>\n<li>280 grams (2 cups) all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>30 grams (3 tbsp.) cornstarch<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp. baking powder<\/li>\n<li>Icing sugar (for decoration)<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 170c degrees and grease the pan well.<\/li>\n<li>Chop the chocolate and put in a bowl.<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Add milk and melt together in the microwave or over double-boiler, until everything is melted and mixture is smooth.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Add cocoa powder and stir well until incorporated.<\/li>\n<li>In a bowl of a mixer with a paddle-attachment, mix butter, sugar, vanilla and salt until creamy, airy and bright.<\/li>\n<li>Scrape the sides of the mixer using a spatula and add the eggs one at a time, while mixing between additions.<\/li>\n<li>Add the sour cream and continue to blend until it is assimilated into the mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Add flour, cornstarch and baking powder and mix until blended.<\/li>\n<li>Transfer about 1\/3 of the mixture into a bowl and add in the melted chocolate. Mix until smooth.<\/li>\n<li>Assembly: pour about half the plain mixture into the pan and level the top.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the chocolate mixture on top and then the remaining plain batter.<\/li>\n<li>Using a knife make a marble shape.<\/li>\n<li>Bake the cake for about 35-45 minutes or until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.<\/li>\n<li>Cool completely to room temperature, garnish with powdered sugar and serve.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-notes\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Keep the marble cake in a closed container in the refrigerator up to 5-6 days.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Serve the cake at room temperature or slightly warm.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">You can use milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-meta\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--End WPRM Recipe--><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_11250\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11250\" class=\"wp-image-11250\" title=\"Chocolate and vanilla marble cake\" src=\"http:\/\/oogio.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/marble_cake3-s.jpg\" alt=\"Chocolate and vanilla marble cake\" width=\"800\" height=\"1200\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-11250\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Natalie Levin<\/p><\/div>\n<\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Even though I like making french patisserie cakes, there nothing like a good pound cake next to my coffee cup.
